Adults involved with Victoria Youth Paddling Club in roles such as coaches, board members or race officials should register here.
Our programs are for youth 9 years old and up. Paddlers will learn water safety and correct stroke technique while developing strength, balance and co-ordination. Through a progressive learning model, paddlers learn the fundamentals in stable boats and move to more challenging boats as their skills develop. Practices are led by NCCP trained or certified coaches with a low paddler to coach ratio (typically 5:1).
There will also be some sessions in local pools this winter. The days and times may differ from regular practice times.
Age 9-14 - youth will be introduced to a variety of boats (e.g sprint kayak, outrigger, whitewater kayak, paddleboard).
Paddlers with more than two years of experience or beginners 13 years and up will focus on skill development in outriggers (OC-1 and OC-6), sprint kayaks and whitewater kayaks.
