*all our programs are subject to COVID restrictions. We will not begin the on-water training until current restrictions are lifted which, we are hoping will be mid-June. For any program intended to commence on May 25, will make all efforts to make-up any missed on-water hours throughout the season
Intro to Racing is for the newest youth members of our club, normally age 10+, to develop their paddling skills. All RHCC programs require swimming ability: LSS Swimmer 5 or Red Cross Level 6. All RHCC programs are led by qualified coaches. We have two sections of Intro to Racing that extend from the spring to the fall. Section 1 is three times a week, and Section 2 is two times a week. We have an additional two Sections of Intro to Racing that are summer months only. Both run twice a week.
Intro to Racing Section 1: May 25 - October 1 (weather depending). Has a 2 week break end of Aug/early Sept

Racing Development (RD) is for our 'regatta ready' U12 athletes and Competitive U14 is for our 'regatta ready' U14 athletes. These athletes will continue to develop their paddling skills and begin to take part in some inter-club regattas. Both program begin in May and conclude in October. RD runs 3xs a week while school is on in the spring and fall, and 5xs a week in the summer months. Competitive runs 4xs a week in the spring and fall and 5xs a week in the summer.

All full season athletes will have a two week vacation at the end of August/start of September.
Youth Athletes work with their coach to perform at their best, and move up levels when they are ready. Intro to Racing paddlers take part in intra and some inter-club level competitions. Competitive U14 athletes compete at the inter-club level. Advanced athletes compete at Provincial to National levels. High Performance (HP) athletes compete at the National and sometimes International level
*For youth under 10, who are new to paddling and prefer a weekly program, please check out our Canoe Kids program, run 9:00-11:00 weekdays, starting the week of July 5th and ending the week of August 16th. Sign up for a week at a time, $180/wk.
