2021 Spring Paddling Programs

Register

Welcome to Banook Canoe Club's Spring Paddling Programs!

PLEASE NOTE: All of our Spring Sessions are currently full EXCEPT for Masters

We are happy to be able to offer a spring program to our athletes. Due to ongoing constraints on our operations as a result of COVID-19 however, we will have to limit group numbers and we will have to stagger some of the group's training days

As you proceed you will see there are multiple options

Masters full schedule of availability listed on next page

Development - available to all athletes born on or before 31 December 2010.

Bridge - available to all athletes born on or before 31 December 2009. Athletes registering for Bridge for the first time MUST contact our paddling chair at paddling@banookcanoeclub.com for approval BEFORE completing registration

High Performance - By coach invitation ONLY

Please choose the group applicable to you and you will then find further information and instructions.

All athletes are required to practice in their assigned group and time

BCC tries to keep the cost of programs as low as possible for its members. The registration fees do not entirely cover the expenses associated with running the programs and the true cost of programming is subsidized by other Club revenue.  When we have short term closures of the Club due to COVID, the expenses associated with the programming remain.  For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds or prorated fees for the time the Club is closed. Without the fees paid by athletes for off-season programming we cannot pay our employees, pay the insurance that covers the Club or pay the costs associated with the building itself.  For  these reasons, in the event that the club is once again required to close due to COVID, refunds will not be offered and monthly instalment payments will still be due on time. We thank you for your understanding.

Happy paddling!

Running programs and keeping the Club open during this time and with the restrictions imposed continues to come at a cost, for this reason we have again eliminated the Volunteer fee but have had to replace it with a COVID-19 surcharge of $50 per individual membership and $100 per family membership.  This is necessary to be able to cover our expenses and keep the Club alive over the winter.

Once you have chosen your registration options you must select "PAY NOW" to complete your registration. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your registration is not complete, please contact banook@banookcanoeclub.com.

Payment may be made in a lump sum for the full amount of your membership or in 3 equal monthly payments, due        04 June, 04 July and 04 August.  Payment should be sent by e-transfer to banook@banookcanoeclub.com

If paying lump sum, the entire amount must be paid by 04 July

If paying monthly, your equal payment must be received no later than the dates listed above. Banook reserves the right to refuse club access if payments are not made according to the payment structure listed.

No refunds will be allowed after July 4, 2021 without a medical exemption in writing.

We encourage all members to participate in open paddle as it's a great way to meet other members and get out on the water in whatever boat you'd like. This is an unstructured program where boats are available for use with guidance from our coaching staff and experienced members. If you are a Masters/Youth Racing/Family/Dragonboat program member, you can participate in Open Paddle for no additional fee. This program offers a variety of paddling options for men, women and families interested in developing their skills in Sprint Canoe, Kayak, Surfski, SUP and Outrigger Canoe. Physical distancing measures are in place - for more information please contact cdbccinfo@gmail.com

*Due to current gathering restrictions, you may have to wait to be able to access the boathouse and boats; or come on time to avoid being disappointed. Please be respectful of our staff members, wait times and equipment during this time. Boats and paddles will be sanitized after each session. Members must have their own life jackets.

*We are hopeful for a June 7, 2021 start date for this program, pending Covid restrictions.

This program is a great way to get out on the water and try the different boats, improve your skills, and meet new friends while enjoying paddling at the historic Collingwood Harbourfront.

FEES: $200.00 + $35 Basic Membership Fee

If you are already registered for any other program (except for Recreational Canoe), you do not need to register/pay for Open Paddle as well. It is included in other program registrations and fees for the 2021 season.
